Four members of the Wigan side that played Leeds at Headingly on February 19th 1927 and went down 28 - 2, with perhaps a weakened side missing a few “regulars’ - they had beaten Leeds at home earlier in the season 25 - 0.
At back, left to right, Wilf Hodder, two years later he was at Wembley for the first RL Challenge Cup Final. (273 games for Wigan in 10 seasons and later a Director of the club) and Eddie Dowdall (8 games in 2 seasons), at front left to right, Dai Jones (64 games) and Bill Oliver (41 games - 32 tries).

Not quite up to date Whelley Wayne, only this November a judgement said, "Google has prevailed in a long-running lawsuit over the millions of books the company has digitally scanned without permission from authors and publishers. A U.S. Circuit Court judge has ruled that it's "fair use" when Google scans portions of books for public to use."
I think the word "portion" is significant from the legal point of view and anyway this book has now had two unpaid adverts on wiganworld - not a bad trade off I would have thought for a book published 21 years ago. PS this was not done for profit!!
