When this street was demolished Metrolite Industries factory was built on the same site.
That factory has now closed
Give me an idea where Preston st was/is Cliff...Vauxhall Viva 1972, in the background.
next to the rock pub in lower ince, just under the wigan /Manchester railway bridge on the right hand side.
twiss pies moved onto that industrial estate.
Where Kwiksave was?
Preston St was directly opposite Britannia Bridge school, which is still there.
If you turned left at the top of the street,onto Warrington Rd the Big Rock pub was just down the road.
AH, same side as the NEW INN.

those houses don't look bad enough to knock down just a refurbish would have been ok

A bit of modernisation was all that was needed.
They were well built houses.

James St, was next street down [going to spring view] Mortens was on the corner, Lower Ince was a special place to live in them days.
My grandma, Ann Almond lived at No 10
That is my mum Eileen Parkinson. She is with my sister Sarah and cousin Kathryn (Edwards). The photo is outside my grand parents house - Sarah (Sally) and Steve Murphy and I am pretty sure the Vauxhall Viva is my grandparents car. Incredible to find this picture.
