Good view of the Rabbit Rocks (ironworks slag bank). Also the 'Wutchie' far left.
It's an interesting photograph, but I can't see "the Wutchie" at all!
My clearest memories of this area date from childhood, when there were slag heaps where green fields appear in the picture.
knew that lock as kids as 'red shale' - still don't know why!
and always knew it as the 'Rockies' never the Rabbit Rocks
and the Wutchie is NOT on that photo

Rabbit Rocks is the tip from the steel making part of Top Place. The Hemfield Road tip was the ironworks tip

Yes, Rosebridge School is to the left of the canal shown in the picture.
i have walked down there hundreds of times did not recanise it but was 1960 when i last saw it
I think this is pre 80s. Bandag tyres was there in the 80s
