I think from speaking to my mum, this was taken at the top of Greenough Street, just as it turns right into Scholes.
The front row of the party are (L to R): Unknown, Ethel O'Conner, Marion Knowles, Winifred Howe (nee Worthington - my mum), Jenny Cartwright and Madge Tracey behind Jenny. As for the other three girls, my mum can't remember their names - any help would be appreciated!

The pub was on the corner Scholes and Greenough St The building building to the right was on the other corner and was curved fronted double fronted shop which in the forties was Reg Suttons Tailors it was debatable as to it being in Scholes or Greenough St Next door was a chemists which was in Scholes
