This is lovely.....going regularly to forties events as we do, I find photos taken in the era fascinating, and how lovely the ladies look compared to some of the fashions you see today; people took a real pride without necessarily having a lot of money.
what a lovely photo I believe Evalyn was related to my grandmother Alice Carlisle also from Scholes who married William James Ferran in St Georges church 1901 theis son James was my father.
I lived in School st., Your grandma was such a beautiful lady. I often wonder what happened to her. She used to take me places when I was little,I loved her like a big sister.. Also Lenard was a lovely man and their mother spoiled me. A great family.
Eileen Randall 1913-1999 my Mother. Reading her diary 1925 and she keeps mentioning Jack Tyrer. Could this picture be the same Jack I wonder. Eileen lived at this time 3 Park View now Bridgeman Terrace Wigan. She went to Wigan Convent.
I was named after you and my mum took me to see your parents when they were very elderly and I think they lived in Marsh Green. My Uncle Len was kind but died when he was 45. I just about remember Grandma, my mum died in 2003 and I miss her every day. Yes, she spoke about you fondly xxxxx
