Wigan Album

Here's my attempt at identifying the Wigan Rugby Team, recently posted by Ron. I think I'm nearly there. It seems to me that the players who cause most "difficulty" were Hurst and Kelly.
The match I think was possibly against Rochdale Hornets, Sept., 6th, 1952. C Kelly was scrum half and became understudy to Johnny Alty and Hurst was stand-off. Hurst was on Wigan books from 1949 to 1955 but only played 37 games, however scored an impressive 31 tries. Stand off position was more usually filled by Fleming and then by Dave Bolton during this time. Kelly played the 1952 - 53 season only, just 15 matches and 3 tries, no wonder they are difficult to identify 60 years later.
