How unlucky - it was only a month before the war ended. Where did Tommy come from.

When you received that copy cert, I wonder if you felt like I did as I received my WW2 copy cert. Of course you don't expect detail, not practical and naive to expect anything such. But, what struck me was that it was short write off of a human being for civil, paymaster and inland revenue purposes. Army/Navy/Airforce/Merchant sending regimental lists in on piece work. Short and sweet, no longer on payroll or manpower. Casualties written off in industrial numbers. Sad proof of the times and the places for them.
