Anyone recognise the rest.
The chap on the left looks very much like Arthur Rowlandson
What year are we talking about
The gentleman on the left at the back looks very familiar. We never knew his name but we often saw him walking up and down the streets in Lower Ince and we always thought he was very posh. He was always dressed up and carried himself well.
All the faces are familiar.I lived very close to the Labour Club. I think the chap on the left is Arthur Rawlinson. He was a familiar figure walking the streets of Lower Ince as he used to collect insurance premiums every week.
Photo must have been taken late 70's
The man at the front in the light suit was Mr Dwyer who was the chemist at Campbells on Ince bar in the 50 's and 60's.
On the next to the back row is Michael Maguire ,the M P for Ince.
I think the man on your grandad's right's name was Hepworth from Spring View?
front row second from left my uncle Billy Conelley he was club treasurer for many years.
Does anyone anyone know Walter Moseley or Agnes Moseley they used to frequent the Labour Club and in the 1970s I worked there as a bottle boy taking glasses and bottles of the table
(Grandparents)
Bill Hepworth had two sons Ronnie and cliffard and a daughter Kathleen.Ronnie was in the same school as me.
My Grandad Arthur Rowlandson (back left), worked for Insurance Company and collected from people in Ince. He lived on Ince Green Lane all his life. He became a local councilor and then major of Ince. He was made an Honorary Alderman of Wigan Borough in 1986 for his services to the community, especially on the Education side. They wanted to name a road after him, he declined but he named Makerfield Way preferring to put Makerfield back in Ince ! An honest, caring man who we loved very much.
