Another good snap. Looking at the clothes it seems it may be about l900 l910. When we were at the Inn the end house
in Platt St was occupied by Bill Goulding who came in the Inn every day at the same time. On a particular day when the floods were on he did not arrive and my mother Kitty went to see what had happened only to find him in bed on the ground floor with the water lapping the bottom of the bed. He took some persauding to get out of bed and take refuge at the Inn. He was probably near to 80.n
Geoff leslie smith lived next door to the pawn shop later abbotts fancy goods shop bill was my uncle its the onlyplace he would take refuge in a pub
For Winnie. I wonder if you could answer a problem for me. My mother was Olive Beesley, born on Moss Lane and she had cousins who lived in the Platt Street area.Joe Bevan was in my class at St. Nathaniel's and I always understood that he was a 2nd cousin to me. Sadly there is no-one left in the immediate family to ask but maybe you can sort this out for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Winnie, many thanks, my granddad was Sam Beesley and Jenny's name does ring a bell now after all this time. If you can email me above I would be very grateful for any names I can add, as like many others I am doing my family history and started far to late! Thanks John for posting this picture and unblocking a log jam! Joe Bevin and I were in the same class at St Nathaniel's.Happy days.
