What a lovely old photo, Thankyou Carol for some more memories of my childhood. Cheers!!
Hi Lizzie Down Under, So glad you like the shot, taken by one of my parents I think with a Kodak Brownie camera. Carol
My Kodak Brownie camera was my pride and joy!!! I just couldn't stop clicking. I have a beautiful pic of hHaigh Hall taken from by the huge cherry tree. I don't know what attracts me to Haigh Hall so much, may be because we did a lot of exploring around there as kids. Thanks again Carol, cheers!!
This picture brought back very good memories. Thanks carol,I went round the greenhouses as a child and later when i was working on Wigan Parks. It brought back memories of walking round Haigh Hall with my grandparents.
This brings back so many fantastic memories. It used to be so exciting to see the fish - I remember them as big goldfish (koi carp) but I don't know if that's true. I thought the water lillies were magical. Oh, I will be reminiscing about this tonight. Thanks.
Yet another beautiful place, part of Wigans heritage left to go to ruin by the council. It will be sold off soon, mark my words. This council treasure nothing.
I was pleased to read all your comments. As fas as I'm aware this Haigh estate was left by Lord Crawford to the people of Wigan for their enjoyment and we must ensure it remains so.
