Apologies to anyone on the photo whose name I've spelt wrong, I'm sure I've got everyone's name correct but it was just shy of 40 years ago !!!!
Seems like yesterday, very happy memories of Woodfold it was a great school with headmaster good old Mr Weald in charge.
Other teachers names I can remember are Mrs Goodman, Mrs Woods, Mr Watkinson & Mr Roberts
Hi Mark can you tell me whereabouts was Woodford school?
Woodfold Primary School is on Green Lane Standish
I think the little boy at the back next to the teacher, David Schofield, could be my nephew (through marriage). Did he have a sister Diane? Was his mum called Joan and his dad Jim? And did he live on Preston Road?
Kathleen your right on all points, I remember he had to stand on the back row that day as he'd ripped the sleeve of his jumper & they wanted it out of view.
I think he lives in Wales now, his Mum still lives in Standish on Preston Rd.
remember it well because I was never out of Mr weald office...MRS smith used to scare me to death,I drive past there every week and have a look....happy days
Sadly Mrs Hilton passed away at the end of. July 2014. She was an inspiration to thousands of children and teachers.
Can't believe I come across this, must only be 8 or 9.remember d roper though, big crush on her then
Mark
Are you younger brother of Anne?
I went to Woodfold, Ann in my class. Mr Watkinson was great, made maths fun
God what memories!!!! so good to read all these names I remember from school. Still see some people in these photos. I remember Mr Watkinson too - what a legend!!!
Just got to thinking how nice to recreate this photo, then a little class reunion after though I believe Mrs Hilton has passed on
