there is a certain beauty to this picture which those of today's generation would not appreciate.
known affectionately as 'The Greyhills' - our playground! - had many an adventure up there!
loks like norah batty wi stockings
i remember the gray hills but not that big ,the slag tip was on hemfield rd at the top of belle green lane hr ince.at the back of ince morissons.
i think you might find it probaby is weybourne drive area goose green and those are the blundhills with the big yo yo in the distance
I have the same photo, only with more detail and it is definitely the slag tip in Ince in the background
I don't think this is Holt street my brother lives in Holt street and the bungalows have slate roofs the one in the picture has tiles
Are we sure it's not the Lake District!. She seems enthralled by the scenery.
You may well be right Dave, but it is definitley Ince, and how is your Brian by the way, still doing his fishing.
Our Brian's fine and still fishing regularly.
This photo is already on The Album.
I'm going to get told off for going off the subject, but I would just like to say Hello Dave Thomas! It was so nice of you to come up to speak to Peter and myself at Pickering; we had a brilliant time! I want to see you in your trilby next year, (I'll let you off the fox-fur and seamed stockings!)
Hello Irene we all thoroughly enjoyed the day at Pickering you and Peter looked great in your outfits. we will be going next year and we are contemplating on dressing up for the occasion, well the woman are! i think you certainly look better in the fox fur and stockings it was lovely to meet you both.
If this is the slag tip then where is this bungalow is it still there?? Irene in furs and Stockings????? How can I think about Wigan now?
there are some bungalows near morrisons but not that near to where slag tip was so i wonder if it is not ince ?
The fur is real but the stockings, aquired in a Parisian Lingerie, are actually tights from Wigan Market Hall! You little tinker, Gerry!
I Might get busy with photoshop now Irene.......Hmmmmmm!
SINGS.....Oh you've all gone quiet over there.......
So where is this near ince slag tip then?
