I think this is Butler Street, Indeed, in Scholes. The picture is looking towards the rise of Scholes. This present location is still Butler Street. Salvation Army/Penticostal church entrance is on it's corner. I may be wrong. Seem to remember that bulidin, in the middle of the picture being an electric sub station near the new, then Pentecostal church.

Struggling with my bearings here but is this looking from Silver Street / Spring Street towards St Patrick's Church?

in reply to Tony, dont think this new building is the Penticostal church as I was there when it was being built in '68/69 when the houses were all down
