Thos Wall and Sons Ltd, Typesetters and letter press printers. The Wigan Observer was printed and published here for almost 114 years.
Cliff Webb is pictured (right) in the book binding department. Cliff was a super craftsman who later switched to a reporting and writing role. He was Wigan Rugby League writer for a long time and a magnificent feature writer.

The Binding Room at the Observer Office undertook a vast amount of commerical printing, including the minutes of Wigan Council. The Binding Room closed when the Observer moved to premises in Woods, Street, off Wallgate, in 1966.

Cliff Webb was my Dad! What a thrill to see him in this picture!
