Worth every bit of the 5 bob.
Saw the Stones at the Ritz in the mid sixties and they were fab. Can't remember the support acts though. I have a Decca 45 of The Beat Boys who I understand were a Wigan group. The titles "Third Time Lucky" and That's My Plan" from 1963.
I think Ike & Tina Turner may have been on the bill.
I thinks Charles and Inez Fox were on the bill at the Ritz concert.
Spot on!
the rolling stones played the ritz on the 16 of september 1964
Charles and Inez Fox,a great soul act.Mockingbird and Tightrope to name but two of there recording's.Pity I wasn't old enough to go and see them in the mid 60s.The Stones did blues material when they first started out.It must have been a great night.

The Stones tried to borrow the Beat Boys PA at the Emp.but were told, I think by Ronnie Carr to " get stuffed" or words to that effect as they were being paid a lot more money than the Beat Boys.
saw the stones at the ritz my mate charlie watson,s mum worked there and got us tickets. paul and barry ryan moody blues were on the bill.
I remember the Stones appearing at the Empress Ballroom. Their van drove up the side and Jagger dressed in jeans and tartan waistcoat jumped out with his maracas in hands (not being rude)and went straight on stage. What a show! Also saw them at the Ritz. Remember being on day-release and going up to the Ritz in the afternoon. Their roadie was there effin' and blindin' in a Cockney accent! Set the tone!
remember seeing The Stones at the Ritz in 1964 when I was 14. (couldn't speak next day. (screaming too long) ha ha happy days.
I saw them at the Emp in 63 and then at the Ritz in 64. They stayed at the Brocket and one of my friends kissed Mick Jagger! We were all jealous!l
