Miss Twist Miss Gardner Mrs.Parkinson Miss Eastwood these teachers were all at Aspull Secondary Modern when i left in 1973 . Mrs Parkinson retired the same year ! Dont recognise the male teachers .
Mr Grundy & Mr Wilkinson
I was there when the school opened in 1959 (the Official Opening came later), Miss Eastwood was Deputy Head and taught music, Miss Twist taught Art and Mr Wilkinson taught Science. The Headmaster was Mr Firth and he tried to teach us French but it was a lost cause as far as I was concerned.
Compared with the schools we had come from the facilities were superb. Shame it was closed down.
brings back happy memories of days gone by!!
