Under 19's? These lot are the biggest and oldest under 19's that I've ever seen...Open age...?

I would date this a little later than 1973 maybe?
I see Derek Dwyer in a very tight track suit and Jack next to Len who worked at Gullicks with Derek.
I remeber Len and his family moving into Ormskirk Road at the beginning of the 70's from Warrington where he used to play Hooker. His son Les played for Rose Bridge as did Derek Dwyers son.

This was approx 1980/81 season, i used to watch both St.Pats u 19's and Rose Bridge U19'S.They were both fantastic sides, nothing between them, i remember upto 1000 t0 1500 people watching the games when they played each other. Great days, and a credit to amateur rugby.

Blimey, this takes me back. Team is...
Carl Briscoe, Terry Wright (spence, a great forward...) , big daft John Milner (one of the best prop forwards to play the game), Eric Ashton (still daft as a brush...) Tony Sanby (Sam...) Steve (not sure , but I think his name was Brennan,a cracking centre who I think signed for Wigan with John Milner..) Len McIntyre , Jack Berry, John Berry (great little fullback who signed for Swinton) ;
Feyting Freddy Turner (now twice the size !!!! Sorry Fred...) Mark (can't recall his surname,because we used to call him Woggy, a cracking hooker) Wayne Boyd who head butted me when I played for St Pats, my bloody nose has never been the same since, thanks Boydy ! Five ops and I still can't breathe through it, despite its size! Me, Dereck Dwyer, Kevin Woodward !!!!! He could do a full somersault, not now though!!! Mick Worral, Mark Dwyer (captain of GB U19s, never reached his potential, but a smashing lad) David Kennedy, who never actually plaed, he just talked a lot...Martin Egan..dear me happy healthy days....time does pass in the blink of an eye ...Davis
