This photo is of my sister Barbara and I in our 'beautiful' back yard in Manley Street. Let's face it, it was an eyesore but we never thought so at the time.
We had a cat which was always having kittens and we are holding one each in this photo. Folk never had their cats neutered in those days but that didn't bother us then. I'm glad to say that times have changed. Even so, there are still far too many unwanted kittens.

i lived at 62 manley st in 1963 what number were you at?

Hi Dave. We lived at number 12. The houses were pulled down in the 70's and we went to live in Winifred Street.
my nan and grandad lived at no 5, i lived there with my parents while i was todler, nan was nelly pennington, if anyof you remember her
The gable end you can see to the right were 4 outside toilets my grandma lived in Bryn street. We lived in Bryn st
at the corner with Manley st just see the roof of our house in the distance (happy days)Do you all remember the bonfires we had on the spare land ?
