Steve, on the 1901 & 1911 census my husbands G Grandfather's address was Grammer School House, off Crompton St, Liverpool Road, Platt Bridge. Do you know if this would be it.

Chris,yes it is the same house where your husbands Grandparents lived My Wifes parents Mr&Mrs Swift occupied half of the Villa,the other half being occupied by the Hindley family, this would have been in the 1920s. Best Wishes, Steve

Thanks for the photo and info Steve, it's great to see it after doing the research on my husbands family, by the way I put a photo on WW of Jacob Clark (my husbands GG) who occupied it. My husbands mother told us he used to keep chickens when he lived there, he was a carpenter at Cromptons Colliery.
