Glad you recognise my mum, me and my brother lost her at quite a young age me 19 him 11. I love this photo cause she looks so happy. Also love the turbans they have on, I remember her coming home from the cotton factory with one on, rollers in the front peeping out full of bits of cotton.
how gorgeouse do they look chris in theire turbans, my mam wore one all the time when i was little in the 50s,i also was brought up in hr ince.
Josie where did you live in Ince, I stayed at my grandma Chipps during the week cos my mum worked, that was until I was seven, then my grandma died. I have such happy memories of John St, going for walks round Clary with Uncle Gerald, feeding the geese on Clary.
chris, i lived at the top of belle green lane, york st from 1950 to 1962 then i lived on kendal rd estate half way up belle green lane .
hi chris,do you remember what number in john st you visited as i was wracking my brains to remember where it was in ince ,so i looked on ince directory, it tells you of all the people who lived there in 1925 so maybe a bit earlier , i didnt see any roonys, but its interesting to know who lived in that house before you,i have done it with the house that i was born in it was a john byrn it even tells you what theire job was so it might be interesting for you to look into that,john st was over rose bridge hr ince off manchester rd ,right against clarry .
Chris I remember your mum she had lovely Auburn hair if I remember right.
Josie it was number 4 John St. Yes my mum did have lovely auburn hair, she was the only one in the family with it and my son has the same hair colour. Unfortunately niether me nor my brother has it, it seems to have skipped a generation.
