Had many a pint served by him at the Spinners Arms in Atherton many years later

I recognise Alfie Craig (second from left on back row). in 1966 my mother did the laundry for the Latics and I use to go down to Springfield Park in the school holidays. Not many of the players would be about as they were mostly part time but Alfie was always around. I used to help Bill Barker, the groundsman who volunteered his services. He also had a farm in Orrell.

John Heath came from Tranmere rovers to latics.

i played for youth team and reserves from 66 to 69 harry lyon took me under his wing....top bloke top player almost sure played with graham hickson at wigan rovers later
