My better half is next to the teacher on the right.
He says she was probably holding him so he didn't run away!
Is Margaret Latham there? Enid Croft?
Oops! I should have said that John was next to the teacher on the LEFT. The boy next to Miss Hill was Billy Pye who was sadly killed in a motorbike accident at Middlesborough in 1960, aged 17.

I don't remember you Micky either but do you remember any of the names I mentioned in my last posting on this pic?
Hello Anne Rose( crowther ) just browsing all these photo's and stories of St.James, at that time you were there do you remember Anne Winstanley? and myself Alan Winstanley? we went there I was school football captain with Mr.Leigh my master and sports master he actually bought me my first pair of boots we could not quite afford them ,he was for me the MOST PERFECT GENTLEMAN AND PERSON, when I attended his funeral the Wigan parish church was bursting at the seams which truly showed his prowess as a human being I will never forget him. Our Anne went there from the bottom school thro to the last class I'm sure you know her, also was you a nurse at the carpet factory at taylors factory?
Hello Alan, I can't say I remember your name just the ones in my earlier post--- sorry. I agree with all you say about Mr Leigh . Many kids were better for having him as an example . My mum Hilda was the factory nurse at Taylor's . Did you work there? I wish I had a photo of her when she worked there .
Hi Anne
