I remember those when they were in service, you got on at the front, and got off through the middle doors. I can't really remember if it made things any easier.
Some early Atlanteans double deckers had the same idea Dennis, they were meant to save time.
I cant help but notice all the buses shown in these photographs are so clean and tidy not like the junk thats passes for public transport of today.
It's odd, but I've never taken to liking single-decker buses. Unless they're double-deckers; they don't interest me in the same way.
I'd miss a bus before I'd get on a single-decker!
Must be because of all the snogging I used to do on the top deck!
It is a Leyland Panther cub, some of these went to Malta and one came back DJP 468E
IT IS A 36FT LONG LEYLAND PANTHER BODIED BY NORTHERN COUNTIES SEATS 46 AND 21 STANDING IT HAD A LEYLAND 680 ENGINE WHEIGED 7 T 15 CWT NO POWER STEERING AND WAS SEMI AUTO THE GEAR SHIFT WAS TO THE RIGHT OF THE DRIVER GOOD BUSES TO DRIVE THEY CAME IN 1970
