My grand-daughter, who is 4 today, (14th April), is going to St. Andrews in September; I hope she will be as happy as these children seem to be.
My daughter Judith Conroy lower middle row 3rd from left.
Teacher Mr.Purdie.
I believe Mr Purdy died a few years ago he was still very young.
This was the class in the year below me, I recognise so many of the faces!
I did hear that Mr Purdy died not long after retireing, such a shame, he was a good teacher, scared the living bejeysus out of us, but kept us in good order and also knew how to make us laugh
I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Purdy's death - he was definitely my favourite teacher at St. Andrews - but he was certainly a disciplinarian and wouldn't put up with nonsense! I have so many happy memories of this school. I'm surprised to see they had a uniform in 1991! When was this introduced? We didn't have one (I left in 1981)
My daughter Sarah is on the far left of the third row standing
I left in 1985 and i was the last year to wear normal clothes so uniform was intrduced in 85-86 year. I was also the last year to leave after Junior 3 or Year 5 in new money and go to Gig middle.
Both my lads have now left that school my youngest in July just gone and i can confirm that its an even better school now than when i went just a shame the same cant be said about the Deanery
my son derek is sat down on the right he is now a teacher himself and lives in the cayman islands never thought that would happen
I was at St Andrew's, left in 1987. Mr Purdy was my favourite teacher, everyone loved him and I was really sorry to hear of his death. A great teacher.
Does anybody have any photos from about 1997-2001 please I will be on them photos plz help
I have just read this and I went here and Mr Purdy was my form teacher in the juniors and I was so sorry to read that he died as I did not know.
Mr Purdy. My musical inspiration from being age 7. RIP xxx
