Can anyone tell me if this school would be connected to the Beech Hill Council School (c.1934), where my grandmother's Brother George Wood apparently was a teacher.? This info is recorded in the obituary (I have a copy) of George's father, William Wood of Avondale Road Wigan, who died in 1934. I dont have any other info on George's teaching history in Wigan.

The big lad in the middle of the back row is Frank Whittle.
He went on to teach German at the Deanery High School.
Was at beech hill infants and juniors 1953 to 1960. First year infants we had to have a sleep in the afternoon. Think the teacher was miss Rork ? We had the mayor on the lawn at the front of the classroom. Mr Gambles took us for soccer in the juniors. We had to see t the wooden post for school matches
I (Jean Holleron) was there around the same time. I also remember nap time in Miss Roarke's class. My teachers in the junior school were Miss Shepherd, Mr Gambles, Mrs Hesketh and Mr Turner. My sister Barbara came 2 years after me and then my brother John 2 years after that.
Sherley yes this is the school. Picture taken on the field at the bottom of the steps from the infant block.
That’s me, stood next to big Frank. I remember everyone except the lad on the front left. It was a good team and we won the league but lost the cup to Sacred Heart school at Springfield Park. Tommy Turner was teacher / manager. Great memories
