Was Thomas Eckersley the owner of Eckersley's Mills?

Nope. He was no relation and the family of mill owners expired in 1935, the last being Nathaniel Ffarington Eckersley who built the Western Mill's, his grandfather built the original mill's onsite which became known as Large and Old mill. They were both demolished in the 60's and the Western Mill's remain.
