This is when we won the area finals in 1975,going on to win the natoinal finals and then to come second in the ultimate first aid comp"the grand priory"in London.Sadly Frank Atherton who was the safety engineer at Parkside passed away some time ago,he is third in from the right, the young lad on the right of the pic is his son.
The young chap holding the smaller trophy is Stewart Greenall. We were appies in the late sixties.Brian Talbot at the back centre.
I remember most of this lot,I competed with most of them until I left for Sutton Manor and then Yorkshire in the early 70s. Stuart Greenall, Sid, Ken Foster (not Brian Talbot) Frank Atherton, Bill Thorpe, and Franks son Peter who I think became a suveyor. Great memories.
What a surprise to stumble on this site.Ihave a lump in my throat as big as an orange.Allan,Fred,Ken,Dennis,John, you invoke such strong and emotional memories, however,to mistake "windmill" Foster for me is really taking the p--s.Kindest Regards.Brian.
Sid Hichisson has told me that Bill Thorpe died 9.03.12 from cancer. He was 72. He had a get together with his mates a couple of weeks before he died as he knew he hadn't got long to live.
