Hi Josie, although I didn't attend St. Williams, the schoolyard was just behind our house and I remember it well, and the steps that led down to it from the two pre-fab classrooms and the canteen. The surrounding wall had jagged pieces of glass stuct to the top to stop people climbing over. They used to hold jumble sales in the yard on fine days and in the Parochial Hall if it rained. Shopping for clothes at jumble sales was often a necessity in those days!
i remember it well irene i also loved the jumble sale,i must have passed your house almost every day taking a short cut and going down those steps, they would be on the left of this pic.
