The caption gives a lot of info. Just up the road from this shop is The Lord Nelson public house.

My husband was born on Bridge Street in 1950. The family moved to Mornington Road when the properties were demolished.

The next pub up from this shop is the Wheat Sheaf Hotel. The Lord Nelson is on the opposite side of the road.

My grandma and grandad and family lived at 50 Bridge Street until 1943.It's good to see this photo, thanks for posting it Dennis.
It looks like Tomlinsons shop which in the 60s included the 2 nextdoor. Danes Ave originally came out of a very narrow gap to the left of where the man is sitting on a doorstep. The Wheatsheaf was demolished and the new entrance to Rayner park put there. Tomlinsons block was demolished in the 70s and grassed over.
