I can remember when Morrisons was Wheelans and they had a cafe next door. The best Chicken butties ever used to buy LP's from Wheelans as they were cheeper than other places. I can remember buying "Slade alive" and a few years later "Mud rock".
I love this photo. Its the same red 113 bus i used to go to/from school on. I remember the Ribble drivers were always grumpy especially if you tried to pay with the newly introduced £1 coins for the 10p fare; people smoked sat next to you on the bus (yuk) and the short cut across the big square that at the time was a car park-It was deadly on those cobbles when iced over in winter. I went flat on my back a few times and it hurt. The morrissons had the world's smallest aisles and next moved to an even worse prefab down Station Road at the back of the council offices. I guess this was about 1985?
