Hi Martin good photos. Did you know Vivienne Roughley who lived at the top of Back Brow? She had a sister Pam and an older sister I think her name was Vera?

I do love your Dad's photos..... went to the morning service at that church many a time.
Do you know if a John Alker of Ormskirk Rd, Holland Moor was a relative ?

I can remember it being as bad as this in the winter. People getting stuck trying to drive up Alma Hill. Also reminds me of mornings before central heating and the windows being frozen on the inside.

Hello Ron I knew of them but I think they were older than me or at least thats all I can remember.

I remember on bad snowy days leaving the car at the top of the hill and walking down rather than attempting the big hill ( and skidding over that banking!)
