The posh car parked outside of Maguires house must belong to the Doctor who used to travel from Standish and use Mrs Maguires parlour as a surgery.

Probably Doctor Ormsbie a large Scotish gentleman who I seem to remember liked a little tipple now & then afterwards there were doctors Marwick & Shawwho used the house also

Dr Ormsby's father who was also the doctor before him, may have been Scottish, but I think Dr. Bob Ormsby from our time was a product of Standish.

'Our'Dr Ormsby from the 40's and 50's definately not Scottish, the tipple comment is correct though.

"Dr Bob" (Dr Robert G Ormsby) of Standish brought me into the World on the 9tj November 1935. He was a wonderful doctor. I have lived in Standish 62 years but was born in Parbold. He enjpyed a drink often in the snug of the Old Wheatsheaf Pub( now Standish Aldi) it was across the road from his surgery (now Spar etc the house is still there)
