Eeee! Irene I used to bump into the beef and all Greens went across the road to next to Mace a chap called Harold Turner ran it( he was a great piano player)
Where did yopu live, Gerry?
I lived at 4 Battersby St until 1961 then at Kendal Road
If you remember they built the Kendal Road estate because the houses in Tolketh Street had collapsed
Gerry there was a butchers years ago over Rose Bridge Marjoria Turner and her brother had it i wonder if they were related to Turner on Ince Bar
Ben Turner's was a chain of butchers shops, with a number of branches. The man who ran the Ince Bar shop, opposite Belle Green Lane, was Jim Briers. I think he went on to have his own name over the shop.
There is a photo of Jim Briers shop on this site. probably somewhere in the INCE folder Irene
