Super pic - there aren't many Post Card views of Lower Ince! One for our Parish Magazine, if that's okay with you. Who was the card from, and sent to?
Hi Alan great photo, can you send me a bigger sized scan of the postcard?
Hi Rev David and Ron, i will send better scans to both of you.
Ialso met my other half in there nearly 40yrs ago, looking to get my Ruby next year.
What a fantastic photograph!
Um... could you put me down for a larger scan as well?
Just sat here in New Zealand browsing then came across this photo, so many good memories of saturday and sunday nights in the ealy 60s are flooding back, thanks Allan
went in the old hall most weekends i think the group was oggie doggie and the do da band
I was in a band called The Incas and we used to play here in the early sixties. I remember a fight breaking out one time and a full pint hit the wall behind the drummer - we got out quick before any of our gear was damaged!
I used to live down that Street Cemetrey Road
but I wasnt born then lol Great picture
1966-1975
This is my aunt and uncles hotel now, it's now called The Coaching Inn. I've always wanted to know if it's haunted as i stayed there, just me, my younger brother and 2 older brothers, we had 2 twin rooms and i heard footsteps at about 2 in the morning jogging through the corridoor. spooky as!!

Nearly right, the band was a merger between the Shyms and Oggie and The Membranes. Oggie (Alan Hodson) was lead singer, we were known unofficially as The Membranes but for a laff we called ourselves The Oggie Doggie Do Dah Band as a homage to Bonzo Dog (and Augie Doggie).
Lived just over bridge 6 doors from st Mary's (297) had many good fri/sat/Sunday nights in old hall with our Billy, our Keith Des/Raymond Alker Jeff Lowe Alan Fowler and a load more lads from Spring View&lower Ince my grandat took his dog out every afternoon did'nt have a lead took of and sat outside vault waiting for my grandad.if I remember right it was the first pub in wigan to have a coloured telly (in vault) great pub great mates great area to grow up in .Wigan council hang your head in shame you have ruined the best area in wigan.

Great nights there! Saw the Vaqueros amongst other bands in the 60's and on to a party afterwards. The beer bought from a local offie!
