Top Right - Mum (Irene ) and her sister Maggie on their annual dancing holiday to Blackpool.
Bottom Left - More gardending for poor Tommy.
Bottom Right - Taken on a Fish and Chip day when my sister and brother had come over for Dad's funeral. Clockwise from left:-
Brother Keith, my daughter Nicola, Mum, Me, sister Doreen and my granddaughter Stephanie. Doreen and Keith had to make the most of it even though it was a sad reason for the visit. No were like England for Fish and Chips ( and Pies of course ).
Hi Carole. Did you actually live in one of the Tan-Pit cottages ? Me and my mates used to nick apples from one of the gardens there - hope it wasn't yours !
Hi John, We used to pinch apples from the Orchard behind the cottages in the 50's too. The funny thing is that during my marriage we bought a house which had been built in that orchard and lived there from 1983 until 2000. The access was through the drive of the first cottage and still is of course but I live in Billinge now with my partner, my husband died 13 years ago. Great days weren't they??
They were indeed.
That bottom right pic. is making my mouth water. There's nothing like English(especiialy Wigan) Fish and chips (and Pies). I can't even bear to think about the puddings!!!
Just think about the calories instead !! I will, the next time we have some :o)...sorry.
