Marvellous photograph, but the engine seems to be going up on the up line....Am I correct? Or is it in reverse?

probably going tender first back to where ever it came from, and wasnt Jimmy the union rep, or am I mistaken.

Thanks for this wonderful picture of my Dad Jimmy Sloan. He retired in 1967. He was branch secretary of ASLEF for many years before he reitired.

I took this photo on the blackburn branch at chorley after banking a goods train up to brinscall.I was jimmy sloans fireman for a couple of years.
