I love coffee - but it has to be GOOD coffee.

My favourite it Farrers from Kendal. Strong but not bitter. A close second is Atkinson's from Lancaster.

Sorry to say I hate coffee with a passion. Years ago, I used have a couple of cups at work, and I wondered why I got stomach ache after I'd drunk it. It was Nescafe.

The only one I'll have a few sips of, perhaps every couple of years, is that Dow Egbert's, which I find just about passable, and I've started to buy boxes of Cappuccino from Lidl, which I'll have a cup of about once a week, if that.

A good strong cup of tea for me.

Over in Canada, tim hortons is the coffee to have, they have a big chain of , drive ins and coffee shops, Its cheap and good, Canadians are like Americans, too lazy to make their own, they drive out to a drive in and put it in the large cup holders that ALL American and Canadians cars have fitted by law and, If the cup holder breaks, they won't driver the car

I just looked up the ingredients of Nescafe, and it contains 70% blends of coffee and 30% chicory. Yuk. Perhaps that's what gave me stomach ache, but I can't be sure.

Peter on my jar its messleading, It says 100% responsibly sourced coffee,
I think that means they don't used slaves or dole wallers to pick the beans,

I can't find an ingredients label

NESCAFÉ Original Instant Coffee does not contain chicory. It is made from expertly roasted coffee beans and offers an unmistakable, full-flavored taste.

Mollie I think you are referring to Nescafe Sunrise that is produced in India. It is a blend of 70%/30%

Personally Tommy, I don't like tea from a teapot, The tea is ' stewed' , The secret to a good cup o tea is.
Water must be boiling
tea bag in cup and the boiling water poured on the bag, Mash the tea until its dark ruby and add milk to an American tan colour, Drink while hot,

Each to his own Tommy Tea. are you one of those that like the tea cup with heavy stained tea marks ?
I might have told this story before, my first job at 16 was in a butchers shop and being the 'lad' My job was washing up, The Boss butcher did't come in everyday and one of the days he was out, I was told to wash the cups up, The Bosses cup was in his office and it was heavily stained with tea and I cleaned it so well it looked like a new cup and I thought the boss would be pleased But, He went ballistic,, He was fuming because I'd cleaned his cup..

Linma

I remember when everyone used tea leaves, and you had to leave the last half inch in the cup, and throw it away, or else you ended up with a gob full of tea leaves, but if yoo were posh, you would have a tea strainer to catch the tea leaves, but even after using one of those I found that there were still tea leaves in the bottom of the cup.

Tom

I remember the tea stained cups, and they were caused by tannins in the tea and folk thought that in a tea stained cup, the tea tasted better, and washing up liquids would not shift a bad tea stain, in our house me mum had false teeth, and so one day me and me brother took to putting steradent tablet in the cups, which shifted the stains, but as time went on, washing up liquids improved, so that they dissolved the tea stains, so you don't really see them these days.

I once tried that decapitated coffee to see if it made a difference and wouldn't give me bally warch, but it was just the same.

I am guilty of having a tea-stained cup, but every now and again I'll put diluted bleach in water in it and use another cup until it's clean again, then I boil it out to make sure there's no bleach residue left.

I make my tea like Tom does, but with not quite as much milk, and I do have three sugars in it as well. One person at work drinks only coffee, but it has to be made half milk and half water, which sounds horrible to me.

Many years ago, my husband's WO2 drank eight cups of coffee a day, with TWO spoons of coffee in each cup. One day he was found at his desk quivering and shaking so had to be taken to the nearest BMH (British Military Hospital) where he was diagnosed as suffering from an over-dose of caffeine. Seriously.

you never see anyone today drinking those, pint mugs of tea, My dad used to have one and, He always drank the full pint over about 1/2 an hour, It had to be ' real tea' , PG tips , not tea bags , done in a teapot so he could have a top up, with one and a half teaspoons of sugar, I know this because, I was his unpaid tea lad, We had a strainer to catch the leaves and the rule then was,One teaspoon full for every cup then one extra for the pot , So my dads teapot was a six cupper so, I used to put 7 teaspoons of PG tips and fill the pot with boiling water, stir and fit tea cozy, let it brew for 10 mins and then pour,
I never drank it, I'd drink corpy pop or milk if we had any,

As regards free speech?
Personally I am all for it, cornerstone of civilised culture, however personal responsibility and respect for others has to go with it.

What do you say?

This has become quite an interesting post because, I too have had some bally warches recently and am wondering, ' is it the coffee now' I never suspected it before, With me its just like a mild heart burn or indigestion and, I have been drinking more coffee than normal and I spade the coffee in the cup, I use a dessert spoon but, only level loaded and never thought it was harmful but now ? I'm gonna cut down the dosage and the quantity,
and secondly , I'd ask the posters who come here belly warching about my posts who's names I will not mention to, check how much coffee they are drinking
