Live/Wire the AC/DC Show
Date: 22nd February 2019
Details:  Live/Wire is The AC/DC Show. The hugely successful and unique six-man tribute to rock music’s greatest band AC/DC, complete with cannons, a wall of Marshalls’ and over two hours of High Voltage Rock ‘n’ Roll in a show critically acclaimed for its closeness in look and sound to the real thing.

Both Bon (Dave) and Brian (Podge) are present on the Rock and Roll train for a night to remember and with the Rhythm section ‘locked in’ the freedom of the stage and the music is given to Simon as Angus Young who gives an uncanny performance with meticulous detail in appearance, energy and his note for note heartfelt renditions in a night of bedevilled Rock and Roll.

The band aim to put you slap bang in the middle of the show with hit after hit, and you are expected to join in ! There’ll also be one or two gems thrown in for the aficionados! We’d be hung, drawn and quartered if we didn’t play all the classics, Back in Black, Rosie, Highway to hell are all there, and the songs keep on coming until the cannons fire ceremoniously to bring the evening to a superb crescendo. If by this time you are still standing…we salute you! Long Live AC/DC, Long Live LIVE/WIRE

A Square World
Date: 24th February 2019
Details:  A Square World is a story of friends who enjoy the same routine day after day, each day is the same until an unexpected change is forced upon just one of them. This accidental happening throws everyone into disarray, the friends are suddenly divided into those who can and the one who can’t.

The friends realise their daily routine is no longer as enjoyable as it was and together decide they need to redefine the rules of the square world in which they live. By injecting a little fun and chaos they soon discover their lives won’t be square ever again!
This endearing and funny performance looks at the unfairness of being left out in a world designed for everyone else but yourself. From the mind of Daryl Beeton comes A Square World, an honest, touching and bizarrely quirky piece of theatre for young audiences.

This nonverbal story, set to an original commissioned soundtrack uses clean-cut simple design, object manipulation and elements of surprise to create an ever evolving and imaginative world. A place where we discover anything can happen once we think differently and rip up the rule book.

Sari Schorr Band
Date: 16th March 2019
Details:  “A Force of Nature” the debut album from one of today’s most exciting blues-rock singers, was produced by the legendary Mike Vernon, whose credits include Fleetwood Mac, The Blues Breakers, Savoy Brown, Chicken Shack, Eric Clapton and Peter Green. In 2015, while in Memphis, Tennessee, to receive The Blues Foundation’s Keeping the Blues Alive Award. Vernon witnessed a performance by Schorr and was so knocked out that he came out of semi-retirement to produce her.

Already a consummate songwriter in her own right, with tracks on major labels, Sari wrote or co-wrote almost all the songs on the album. The album features the stunning blues guitarist Innes Sibun (formerly of Robert Plant’s band), who is the driving force behind Sari’s new band, The Engine Room. The album also features the incomparable Walter Trout, performing his great song “Work No More”

Schorr gained prominence in the blues world through tours with blues legend Joe Louis Walker and renowned guitarist Popa Chubby, and was recently inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame.

“During her performances her vocal range and delivery are a compelling combination that just holds your attention right from the start, casting a spell over the audience that is incredible to witness.” – Blues Matters

“Schorr is undoubtedly a find, writing strong songs in a range of styles, with interesting lyrics. Vocally she has the goods to do justice to that range too, with a bluesy voice that can deliver both power and delicacy. The partnership with Innes Sibun is a winner too.” – Blues Enthused

I Wish I Was A Mountain (11:30am)
Date: 31st March 2019
Details:  “…a wonderful gift for language, a deep sensibility and a penetrating sense of perspective.”
Sir Ken Robinson.

On the day of the famous annual fair, the town of Faldum receives an unexpected visit. A wanderer offers to grant a wish to anyone who wants one. Before long, the city is transformed. Mansions stand where mud huts once squatted, and beggars ride around in horse drawn carriages. And one man wishes to be turned into a mountain.

Written and performed by former Glastonbury Poetry Slam Champion Toby Thompson, I Wish I was a Mountain uses rhyme, live music, and just a smattering of metaphysical philosophy to boldly reimagine Herman Hesse’s classic fairytale. Do we really need the things that we need? What do mountains feel? How did time begin? Adults are kindly requested to leave all answers to these questions at the door. Children, come as you are.

An egg theatre production produced in association with Travelling Light Theatre Company
Co-commissioned by Brighton Dome and Imaginate

Written and Performed by Toby Thompson
Direction and Dramaturgy by Lee Lyford
Designed by Anisha Field

Supported using public funding Arts Council England
