Delicious photo Mick, I can taste it from 3000 miles away. I cant remember the guy who owns that chippy.

Yuk ! Think of the calories and the saturated and trans-fats. I don't know how any health conscious
person can eat that !

Comment by: Jonathan on 12th March 2012 at 06:35

Doesn't that just look delicious! That's my tea sorted for tonight!

It's 7 30am and I'm slaverrin'.Bet Irene Roberts spots this.

Comment by: Gee H on 12th March 2012 at 08:12

OMG... Im slaverrin too, how could you be soo cruel to upload a pic like this to us ex-pats!! ;D

Comment by: Bill on 12th March 2012 at 08:18

YUH, i'll stick to my salads thankyou very much.

Comment by: Garry on 12th March 2012 at 08:27

Too much gravy can spoil the teast, a lot of people add garlic on poor food, it hides outdated food.

Comment by: Mick on 12th March 2012 at 08:49

It would have looked and tasted much better with less gravy and I think I should have had it served with mushy peas.

Comment by: carol on 12th March 2012 at 10:06

My chippy tea of choice is fish and chips, but my mouth is watering seeing this!

Comment by: Pat van Vliet on 12th March 2012 at 10:22

Oooo soggy chips! but no doubt tasty!

Comment by: Annie on 12th March 2012 at 10:24

Chippy gravy spoils the taste of anything it's poured over.

Comment by: David on 12th March 2012 at 11:10

Yes; what's Irene, Wigan's very owm Melanie Phillips going to say about this.

Comment by: irene roberts on 12th March 2012 at 11:15

Are you suggesting I'm greedy, flaggy?! You know I live on lettuce!

Comment by: irene roberts on 12th March 2012 at 13:16

David, I have had to google Melanie Phillips, as I had no idea who she was. I believe she writes for the Daily Mail, and can only assume your comment refers to my recent moans about the changing face of Wigan, namely the glass box and that horrible head in Millgate. Well, I only write for Past Forward, (or at least I used to),the only newspaper I read is The Wigan Observer, and I could just eat steak pie, chips and gravy!

Comment by: Bill Eatock on 12th March 2012 at 14:23

After seeing that photo, that's my tea for tonight!

Comment by: tricia on 12th March 2012 at 16:50

The chippy in Millgate was far better..... now where is my tin hat ??? !!!!!!!!

Comment by: Maggie on 12th March 2012 at 18:02

Comment by: Garry on 12th March 2012 at 19:03

English fish and chips much better than all the rest. Can anyone out there tell be what Kabab is???
When ever I ask people they reply "I don't know, I only buy it when I'm P*****".

Comment by: Alan on 12th March 2012 at 19:11

To Irene, other towns apart from Wigan are changing, its what the powers that be call progress. Bolton, St Helens and Warrington are no different. We have to get on with it.

Comment by: keith on 12th March 2012 at 21:48

mmm 3 slices n a crust mop gravy up

Comment by: irene roberts on 12th March 2012 at 21:51

Alan, I just don't like being called Wigan's "Melanie Phillips"; I even had to look up who she is. I know it wasn't you who called me that, but the person who did hasn't even bothered to reply. I don't like the changes to ANY of the towns you mention; I may not be able to stop the so-called "Progress", but I am entitled to an opinion, as we all are, and I have no intention of "getting on with it". I object to the changes and have the right to say so, as, fair enough, have the people who agree with them. Wigan, Bolton, Warrington and St. Helens used to have their own individual characters; now,you could be taken blindfolded to any of them, because when the blindfold comes off they all look the same. But then that's progress, isn't it?.....Isn't it?
