can someone give me some advice what to do ,first i am not a cat lover ,ive allways had a dog ,since moving into a bungalow 8 months age ,there is a cat which sits under my back window ,or on the back step ,and front step ,its acommunal garden well partly some have fenced off so they have there own private garden ,i know some people throw food out either chick or bread which to me harbours rats .but the point i want advice over is ,the cat belonged to the old lady before me ,at least im under the impression it was hers she went into a care home ,and im led to believe some relatives were going to take it ,but this never happened ,would the rspca take it ,i havent the transport or cat cage to take .my family keeps saying especially my granddaughter, nan let it in your mean .but honestly i hold my hand up i dont like cats ,but wouldn want any animal suffer ,or go through any bad winter we may have .so would the rspca take it ?

Ecmdj, what a thoughtful person you are. Hope you get the cat settled soon.

Really the relatives of the old lady who left should have made arrangements for this cat. I think I would ring the RSPCA or your local cats and dogs home and explain that you can't get the cat to them.

Ecmdj, sorry your not getting better cared for. our surgery has a system of telephone appointments that run after morning surgery. I'd never come across it before we moved here, but it's great for when you need to speak to the doc, but not necessarily see him. test results are a good case in point. If they write a prescription, they send it to the in house pharmacy and you can collect it that day.

Best of luck getting your op, and hope your knee turns out to be ok. Let us know how it goes.

Take care

Ecmdj, it's a shame it's not before Christmas, but I'm so glad that you know now when it will be.

It could have been worse, as you say, but I know anything like you have does keep you awake in the small hours with your brain in overdrive.

I know it will be a huge relief for you when it's done.

Are you going in Wigan Infirmary?

Don't blame you Christine, not many people would!

Is it a day thing? Or will you be in a couple of days?

Aw, poor thing.

For a short while I worked for adult social services, and when someone went into care, their pets we put in a cattery or kennels until homes could be found. I know this for a fact cos all the invoices came through me.

Not very nice of the family to abandon a pet like that is it?

I hope you manage to get it sorted tomorrow.
