In front of the globe Inn is the War Memorial Garden, unusual in that its memorial dates WWI as ending in 1919(when the treaty was signed) rather than 1918(when hostilities ceased). In the foreground is the Queen Victoria Fountain built to commemorate her Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
