What a great site you have which will be of help to all of us who do not live in the county. I am researching the family name from the Wigan area where I believe my 5th. Gt/Grandfather who lived in Standishgate was a Yepman of the town and had property there. Any help would be gratefully accepted as I seem to draw a blank with records from the Eccleston with Douglas area.

As I do not live in the Wigan area I would be interested to know if there are any listings or information available for JOHN EDWARD HARRISON and his wife JANE who were at 8 Crompton Street Wigan in 1901/3. He was a Railway Engine Driver at the age of 33.His wife`s family were the Harrisons of Golborne.

Thanks Brian for getting the site off the ground... It helps those of us a little further from Wigan, to keep in touch with you locals :-)

I am looking for info on a Richard Fairhurst born in Pemberton, Lancs. around about 1838. His father was John Fairhurst, his mother Mary Daniels or Griffing, any connections any one ?

I would also like to endorse the comments made by John Wogan about this web site and also take this opportunity to thank you Brian for all the work you have done. We need to progress and make new opportunities for our members who cannot come to meetings because of the locality they live. We have members in Canada and in Australia to name just two and I think they will feel they can now be part of the Society with us. We will do our best to keep members updated on our intentions and actions throughout the year of what has gone on at our meetings etc.
