Short sorted,
eventually traced to a problem involving divine intervention and a blithering idiot!
Having used PCB sleepers for location purposes on either side of a lift up section of the Top Yard sidings that allows access to the return loops below, the blithering idiot notched the copper face to ensure no short possible through the copper face of the sleeper and then drove a track pin right through the centre of the notch????
The divine intervention obviously kept the short clear for a good 6 months before either gravity, expansion due to high temperatures or some other unfathomable reason took over and ensured that the head of the pin completed the short. Suffice to say the remaining pins have been removed and a gob of suitable adhesive used as a replacement.
The offending idiot has been suitably admonished and his Uncle Joe's taken away for a week!
