Kevan, I used to go train spotting down the side of Wallgate station in the 50s early 60s and I seem to remember a showroom for grave stones and monuments being down there.
So, the Abram stone could have been for a grave.

I've looked on the old street directories but found nothing, but I'm sure there was something down there.
