The hot cross bun has appeared in the supermarkets, traditionally eaten on Good Friday, it's early start is quite common now.

There's a lot of different recipes, the one I've alway known has the cross baked into the top but most in the USA have an icing cross put on top, it goes with the sweet tooth overload USA .

I just remove the soft icing, cut the bun in half and put butter on the halves, just right with a cup of tea
