Handbags   (The sad, the bad and the ugly. Non-productive stuff here.)

Can anyone tell me if this is a group 'B' (B1) vehicle, ie qualifies to be driven on a car licence?

Spec states - Gross Vehicle Weight 3.5 tonnes

Which is right on the limit for group B!

DVLA website states up to 3,500 kg, and I kinda assume this is interpreted as up to and including, rather than up to but excluding. But I know from experience, it is never safe to assume anything where DVLA are concerned.

Guess I need to write to DVLA, and get written confirmation with respect to this, but figured one of you may know the answer.

Being an over 70's driver means renewal of licence every three years, and I have lost my group 'C' entitlement, which is withdrawn automatically at 70+ if you renew by returning their form rather than employ the route requiring submission of medical report.

That is fair enough. I do not want to be driving big heavy stuff in my declining years, and generally size of campervan which I might drive is going to be less than 3,500 kg.

Then, I find a nice Merc, which is bang-on the limit!
