Just for the record, my weekend started on Thursday nights. Started in a few good pubs back then, Crofters, Vic, Grand and then came Friday night, Wigan rugby club listening and dancing to all the top northern soul sounds and Motown. Saturday night off to Blackpool Mecca and the Highland room on the coach from Wigan, back at 1am Sunday morning straight into the que on Station rd to get in the Casino for the northern soul all nightier untill 8am Sunday morning, straight to Wigan Baths for a refreshing swim. Then hitch hiked a lift to the Mecca northern alldayer, back Sunday night in Wigan, a few more pints in all those wonderful now gone pubs I think and work Monday morning to start all over again. What a great time we had. Wigan was the club and pub capital of the north, great nostalgic times, I then joined all my casino mates to Pemps, Sloopies, bees knees once my casino days were over. I am now 54 and guess what, back on the northern soul scene. Never forgot those wonderful times, I owe it to my little home town called Wigan
