'Angels' was Trucks prior to that from about 1977 and above was Sloopy's which had an earlier incarnation as the Vegas. Next door in the 70's was Puffers from around 1972 which comfortably morphed into the daddy of them all for any reveller born between 1950 and 1985: Pemps..... If you're not members , don't wait. ( RIP Barbara)

( Th'owder end may remember this buliding as Wigan Labour Club, aka ' the Bolschevic club).
