Hi Cordy.....it is a very old term used mainly in the country....
When we left England for South Australia....we stayed in Kadina...which is in the copper triangle at the top of Yorke Penninsular consists of Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta....
We were only there for one school term....in that time I got used to the country language and 'cobber' was part of it....from the word 'cob' to take a liking to....so that is the gist of it all....🐨
