Hi Chip pon,, I was similar to you but alas did not receive anything like the amounts you got ,good luck to you too. My years service was 1974 --1981 it was around 1978 or so when they brought that pension scheme in and as iv'e said prior i left in Jan 1981 i too had only paid into it for a few years , I did not get a lump sum and my monthly pension i get from them is quite a few pounds lesser than yours also . So i think i will be calling the pension dept to ask about the lump sum payment ?m GB
